In her words: My favorite thing about UA is being surrounded by likeminded creative individuals with a passion for the arts, as well as constantly having events and showings to immerse myself in.

In his words: I chose the School of Dance because of the unique triple track program that the School offers. The national ranking is a huge plus, but even more than that, it is extremely hard to find a program that offers simultaneous training in Modern, Ballet, and Jazz along with several other elective classes in other genres (Tap, Partnering, African, Improv, Choreography, etc.). Above it all, though, the amazing staff and wide selection of genres available here is unmatched! Additionally, once I got here, the family feel that UA Dance has is so special. I feel so at home when I’m at school, and that’s all I could ever ask for out of a dance program!

In her words: My favorite thing about UA and CFA is being able to be a part of a large university with tons of school spirit while also getting to be a part of a personalized, tight-knit, conservatory-style training program and community!

UA Honors student / B.A. in Film & Television Producing & Studies/dual minors in English and Creative Writing
hannahalmiller@email.arizona.edu

In her words: From an early age, storytelling has always been my passion. So with the opportunity to produce my own films, take classes in screenwriting and creative producing, all while completing dual minors in Creative Writing and English, I knew that the UA School of Theatre, Film & Television was the perfect fit for me.

In the heart of the Marroney Theatre, the stage is set for an electrifying performance that has captivated audiences and sent shivers down their spines. “Sweeney Todd,” the iconic musical that left its mark on Broadway, is ready for its final weekend of performances, under the meticulous care of stage manager Tiffany Fraser.

“Stage managing ‘Sweeney Todd’ has been a dream come true,” she said. “It’s been a challenge, but it’s also been incredibly rewarding to witness the magic unfold backstage.”

Congratulations to Kyle Baird (‘24) who was named the 2023-2024 Presser Scholar by The University of Arizona School of Music 👏👏👏

As a senior studying viola performance, Kylie lives and breathes music. In addition to her classes, since her sophomore year, she has performed with the Arizona Symphony Orchestra and has recently found a passion for participating in musicology-based projects and research.

We asked Kylie what she liked most about her college career.

“I think it might be cliche but going to all the music classes. Getting more knowledge on music theory in music literature–I try to apply things like researching the piece and the stylistic things–into my own performance. So as cheesy as it is, I really like the core classes because it’s all directly impacted the way I perceive and develop my own playing.”
