Carnegie Hall Performance – UA Alumna Heather Mitchell (DMA 2016), Conductor

The Fred Fox School of Music is proud of UA alumna Heather Mitchell (DMA 2016) for her recent stellar appearance on Carnegie Hall’s stage. As Manhattan Concert Productions’ conductor-in-residence, Dr. Mitchell led the Masterwork Festival Chorus and the NYC Chamber Orchestra in a beautiful performance of Robert Schumann’s Requiem, Op. 148. It’s a work that is vastly unknown, thus Dr. Mitchell is trying to introduce it into the choral/orchestral repertoire. “The concert was unreal!,” said Mitchell, “Members of the Desert Skies United Methodist Church (Tucson) sang with us. Alexander Shawn is the director, who is also a UA alum.”

More information about Heather Mitchel can be found in the Manhatan Concert Production website:
