UA Student Tiezheng Shen Directing the Viola Voice International Festival in Mexico City

Fred Fox School of Music doctoral student Tiezheng Shen is directing the Viola Voice international Festival in Mexico City, hosted by the School of Music at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Mexico (UNAM), and Conservatorio Nacional de Música to take place this month. Now in it’s third year, the festival has become the largest viola event in Mexico, attracting musicians from several countries. Each year, besides the faculty solo recitals, the festival offers seminars in viola making, viola design, and contemporary Latin American viola music. Also participating in this event are Fred Fox School of Music doctoral students Xiaodi Xu (harp) and David Ramírez (flute), as well as distinguished alumna Chia-Chun Ko (piano).
