The JustArts Fellowship for Student Leaders in the Arts invites University of Arizona students to design, develop, and complete projects that enhance access to meaningful arts experiences. Fellows identify challenges, propose creative solutions, and collaborate with peers and Arizona Arts mentors to bring their vision to life.
Student Benefits:

Christian Paris Blue
School of Dance, MFA
Christian Paris Blue is pursuing an M.F.A. in Dance at the College of Fine Arts.
Project:
Through his project, Arts for All, Christian addresses the sensory barriers that prevent many audiences from participating in the arts. He will partner with accessibility experts and production teams to stage a sensory-inclusive performance where neurodiverse members of the UA campus and wider community can experience live arts without sensory distress. He will establish a repeatable accessibility framework for future arts productions.
Jake Brumley
Optical Sciences, BS
Engineering, BS
Jake Brumley is a junior pursuing a B.S. in Optical Sciences at the Wyant College of Optical Sciences and a B.S. in Engineering at the College of Engineering.
Project:
In his project, Artistic Albedo: Cooling Campus Through Community Muralism, he merges Tucson’s rich mural tradition with materials engineering. He will use thermal imaging to measure heat on busy UA walkways. He will host community paint days to install a highly reflective mural that lowers temperatures and improves the campus environment, serving as a blueprint for campus sustainability.
Andrew (Andy) Julo
School of Art, PhD
Andrew (Andy) Julo is a second-year Ph.D. student in Art and Visual Culture Education at the College of Fine Arts.
Project:
His project, Creativity is Resilience: Collaborative Artmaking at the Edges of Home, creates a space of exchange and empowerment by bringing together unhoused adults in Tucson and UA students for a creative workshop series at a transitional living facility. Through shared artmaking, Andy will build bridges across lived experiences to help reimagine what community can look like at the edges of home.
Taylor Raney
Health Sciences, BS
Taylor Raney is a senior at the W.A. Franke Honors College and a College of Medicine student working toward a B.S. in Health Sciences in Physiology and Medical Sciences.
Project:
Her project, Phosphene Collective, explores grief through collective art making. Taylor will lead collage workshops for the UA and Tucson communities to create a shared art installation and living archive. Ultimately, the project will affirm that memory-keeping is an act of love and sharing our stories helps us heal.
Felicia Zhang
Health Sciences, BS
Felicia Zhang is a junior at the W.A. Franke Honors College completing a B.S. in Health Sciences degree in Physiology and Medical Sciences at the College of Medicine.
Project:
Her project, Rooted in Wellness, is a multimedia art experience that explores the universal story of healing. She will use repurposed materials and video to showcase traditional medicine practices. In collaboration with Indigenous herbalists and student groups, she will create an opportunity for people across cultures to gather, share, and heal together.
