Join JustArts Fellow Nagasriya Ramisetty for an immersive poetry reading and art exhibition, bit·ter·sweet, that reimagines Greek myth to explore Asian American mental health, identity, and diaspora. Through striking visual art and powerful original poetry, this event invites you to reflect on what it means to belong, to inherit culture, and to care for emotional well‑being in a complex world.
Blending ancient stories with contemporary lived experience, bit·ter·sweet creates an open, reflective space to engage with conversations around mental health stigma, healing, and resilience within Asian American communities. Personal narratives are woven together with broader social realities, encouraging audiences to listen deeply, think critically, and connect more humanely—with themselves and with others.
This interdisciplinary event bridges the humanities, medicine, and public health, making it especially meaningful for anyone interested in storytelling, wellness, cultural studies, or community advocacy. Whether you come for the art, the poetry, or the conversation, you’ll leave with new ways of hearing, feeling, and understanding mental health—both individually and collectively.
