Academic Advisor I
Marshall Bldg, Room 236
Hannah earned a BA in Psychology with a minor in Biomedical Science from Missouri State University, then received an MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling while working as a Graduate Assistant Counselor in the MSU Counseling Center. She joined the CFA team in November 2023 as an Academic Advisor embedded in the School of Theatre, Film & Television, advising students within the Theatre majors and Film & Television majors/minors. Hannah helps students clarify their academic goals, plan their course schedules, evaluate their progress towards graduation, and access supportive services with the University and the community. Her favorite part of the job is listening to her students’ unique stories. She feels that learning a student’s story and lived experience provides context for their behavior, a framework she can then build on in support of their academic goals. Prior to joining CFA, Hannah was a counselor at Ozarks Technical Community College, providing intensive advising services to students from marginalized communities as part of a small grant program. Outside of work she enjoys cooking, sewing, time with her partner and dog, and exploring the Sonoran desert.
