The University of Arizona Student Engagement and Career Development department provides students with resources, guidance, and experiences to build career-ready skills, explore career paths, and connect with employers for internships, jobs, and professional development.

Career Exploration

SECD offers two one-credit courses to assist students beginning to explore possible career options, “Design Your Life,” and a second course for students getting prepare to submit applications, “Design Your Search.”

Careers in the Arts

Explore Careers in Arts & Media, from behind-the-scenes roles to on-stage performances, news reporting, content creation, and design. These paths let you express creativity, communicate ideas, and engage diverse audiences through writing, speaking, production, and performance across many platforms.

Internships

Want to explore different industries or develop in-demand skills? An internship is a perfect opportunity for you! An internship allows you to gain professional experience in your desired field, get mentorship by professionals and peers, and develop skills you can use in your future career.

University Research

Engaging in research at the undergraduate level has many benefits. Research helps you to understand concepts that are integral to your area of study. You will improve your self-confidence, critical thinking skills, and communication skills. The research experience and the networking opportunities it provides will ultimately help you in making your career decisions.
