Summary
An all-artist crew of four University of Arizona professional artists—a non-fiction writer, dancer/choreographer, poet and textile artist— undertook a six-day simulated moon mission, generating creative work shaped by the limitations and possibilities of life and culture beyond Earth. The four stayed inside of a 1,100 sq. ft. pressurized and air-tight enclosure at Biosphere2, making art and finding sustainable ways to create thriving communities outside of earth.

Future Direction:
In Spring 2026, Integrative Arts Research Fellow (IARF) Elizabeth George will continue development of the project on the Eller Stage with five BFA Dance students. The work maintains an ongoing collaboration with the University of Arizona Poetry Center, with poet Julie Swarstad contributing live readings of poetry inspired by the moon. Visual artist Ozlem Ozgur, who worked to produce the story featured by AZPM on the Imagination 1 mission, will create original artwork for projection onstage as part of the Spring Concert. This interdisciplinary collaboration integrates movement, poetry, and visual media within a shared creative process.
