The Narcocorrido is a subgenre of Regional Mexican corrido genre. This type of music is heard and produced on both sides of the US-Mexico border.
Professor Ramírez-Pimienta teaches in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at San Diego State University-Imperial Valley. His current research focuses on Mexican popular culture, especially Popular Poetics and Border cultural and literary studies.
