In honor of Women’s Herstory Month, “Feminist Symposium: Academic Freedom and Acts of Resistance” will be coming to the University of Arizona’s campus March 27-28!
- March 27 dinner and opening keynote address
- March 28 presentations begin
This FREE symposium, formed by a bad-ass team of feminists from the Women & Gender Student Space in collaboration with Undergraduate Research in the Honors College, will especially center folks who have never spoken at an academic conference. We will feature exciting local activist keynotes, student org tabling, craftivism activities, and MORE! We welcome abstracts for panels, round-tables, art or poster displays related to academic freedom, student/campus activism, counter-movements (such as anti-colonial research), and other related topics.
Applications will remain open through February 27, 2026. This symposium is open to community college, undergraduate, and graduate students from any discipline across Arizona, as well as alumni and community members from any walk of life!
Please direct questions to wgrc@arizona.edu with ‘Symposium’ in the subject line. Guests are also welcome to attend the symposium even if they don’t participate – please check out our student-run Instagram (wgrc_ua) or our weekly newsletter (which can be signed up for at ccc.arizona.edu) for more details!
