Hosted at the Harry Wood Gallery at Arizona State University, Getting to the Root creates a space for fostering deeper cultural understanding and dialogue as well as amplifying critical practices from artists, educators, and scholars about this subject matter. In doing so, the exhibition examines the social constructions and driving forces behind discussions of Black hair. Featuring CFA alums: Amber C. Coleman (’23), Olivia Richardson (’22), and Tehan Ketema (’22).
