Casidy Chan is a dancer currently pursuing a BFA Dance major with a Family Studies & Human Development minor at the University of Arizona (’25). She has worked at the Dance Office front desk ever since being at the University and has had the opportunity to perform in various master works in the program including Paul Taylor’s Company B where she was chosen for the Dream Solo, Martha Graham’s Diversion of Angels as Woman in White portraying mature love, and Bill T. Jones’ D-Man in the Waters as the Catherine character doing various lifts and a featured duet.

Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, Casidy received her versatile training in hula, ballet, modern, contemporary, jazz, hip-hop, and musical theater. There was always a strong emphasis on being a chameleon to any choreographer or style that came her way, so while most of her training was received from Punahou Dance School, she attended classes simultaneously at other studios on the island as well as many masterclasses and workshops that were held. In 2019, Casidy moved to Philadelphia to train at The Rock School for Dance Education. She trained under Bo and Stephanie Spassoff in Classical and Balanchine ballet and contemporary from Telmo Moreira and Justin Allen having performance opportunities at places such as The Kennedy Center with the Philadelphia Orchestra.

Casidy Chan is an avid appreciator of the arts and all forms of it. Aside from dance, she studies painting, modeling, and photography. She is currently experimenting with film photography, hoping to combine dance and film in photoshoots. From working as a fashion editorial and runway model walking for events such as LA Fashion week and Sacks Off 5th, Casidy has vouched that modeling has helped her become more aware of her body, the various shapes it can make, angles of appearance, and facial emoting. Casidy also has a deep care for connection and helping others. She currently volunteers on the weekends at trash clean-ups, homeless shelters, and making products for non-profits. In Summer 2023 she worked as a camp counselor with children with mental, learning, and social challenges where she got invaluable training and hands on experience in the field. Currently, she is working on getting certified in teaching mat and reformer Pilates.

Big News! The Pride of Arizona is the 2024-2026 recipient of the prestigious Sudler Trophy. This award is given to a university marching band “that has demonstrated the highest musical standards and innovative marching routines and ideas.” A very deserving title for one of the best collegiate marching bands in the country, according to the John Philip Sousa Foundation.

The Pride is currently in its final push to raise money for new uniforms. To help us meet the ambitious goal of $200,000, the Marshall Foundation has committed $100,000 ... if we raise the additional $100,000.

Congrats to the Pride. Support the Pride.
