Congratulations to Kyle Baird (‘24) who was named the 2023-2024 Presser Scholar by The University of Arizona School of Music 👏👏👏
As a senior studying viola performance, Kylie lives and breathes music. In addition to her classes, since her sophomore year, she has performed with the Arizona Symphony Orchestra and has recently found a passion for participating in musicology-based projects and research.
We asked Kylie what she liked most about her college career.
“I think it might be cliche but going to all the music classes. Getting more knowledge on music theory in music literature–I try to apply things like researching the piece and the stylistic things–into my own performance. So as cheesy as it is, I really like the core classes because it’s all directly impacted the way I perceive and develop my own playing.”
