National Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month (DDAM)
March 1-31, 2025
March is National Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month (DDAM), highlighting the experiences of individuals with developmental disabilities and their caregivers. It promotes understanding and access while celebrating achievements, raising awareness, and advocating for stronger support of all people diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Intellectual Disabilities, Learning Disabilities, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Epilepsy, Language Disorders, and Sensory Disabilities such as hearing loss and vision impairment.
Women’s History Month
March 1-31, 2025
The University of Arizona and Tucson commemorate Women’s History Month in March, recognizing the contributions and vital role of women throughout history. Women’s History Month began in 1978 in Santa Rosa, California. Congress passed resolutions between 1988 and 1994 to authorize the president to proclaim March as Women’s History Month.
How to celebrate:
- Learn about female innovators: discover the contributions of women to the arts, science, technology, and other fields
- Attend events: virtual events or in-person presentations about women’s history
- Recognize women: who have made a difference in civil rights, women’s suffrage, and other areas
- Wear colors: purple, green, and white to represent women’s history
